We say If you need a new, cheap MPV the Sedona has to worth a look for its sheer size and low price.Performance 2.5-litre V6 needs to be revved to get the best out of it, and it's thirsty as a result. The Sedona’s diesel engine is a decent affair, but doesn't offer the power or torque that it should at 2.9-litres. New 2.2 diesel is a much better choice all-round with an easy-to-use if basic autobox.Emissions The Sedona can return 42mpg combined and emits 179g/km with the 2.2 diesel.Driving The Kia Sedona is a frankly awful drive, with the suspension smoothing any joy into oblivion. Grip is lacking as a result and body roll a big issue.Feel Engines are noisy and the Sedona’s transmission is jerky. Get it up to 70mpoh and it should be fine though.Space The Sedona offers seven seats, though it's cramped right at the back. Rear seats slide, recline and fold, though they need to be lifted out completely to extend the small boot to a ginormous 3.000-litre plus.Equipment Basic trim has aircon and CD player. Loads more kit available on higher trims.Price The Sedona offer good value for its size but running costs are variable, with high emissions and low economy on the older models – better on the new diesel – and that Kia badge all contributing to high costs and poor resale value.Quality The car seems sturdy enough and there's a useful seven-year unlimited mileage warranty. Interiors are drab and basic though. Sliding doors improve practicality enormouslySafety Six bags, ABS, brakeforce distribution all standard. Only four Euro NCAP stars though.Pros Large MPV for the money.Cons Poor engines, drive and interior build quality.Alternatives Hyundai Trajet, Vauxhall Zafira, Ssangyong Rodius, Chrysler Grand Voyager
