For people living with disabilities or on Armed Forces pensions, the Motability scheme is a great way of getting a new car for manageable monthly costs.
Those on the Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independence Payment or Armed Forces Independence Payment get a weekly allowance of £59.75 to use on a car – while those on the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement get £66.75 each week to drive a vehicle.

Available for the full £59.75 per week for DLA and PIP/AFIP customers, the Superb Estate is one of the most practical cars around. Recipients of WPMS can get the wagon from £63.40 per week with no advanced payment either – making it a really good option for those needing lots of lugging room.
MINI 5dr Hatch
On offer for the full weekly allowance on DLA and PIP/AFIP, the Mini 5dr doesn’t need a deposit in base Classic spec, which comes with all the essentials. WPMS customers pay from £61.11 for the more practical version of the Hatch after paying no initial cost either.
Nissan Juke
All customers eligible for the Motability scheme can get Nissan’s compact crossover from £58.50 per week with no deposit on top of that. Following a much-needed update in 2018, the Juke is now in-line with the rest of the Nissan range and comes with plenty of good equipment.

DLA and PIIP/AFIP customers will need to use their full weekly allowance on the C4 Cactus, while WPMS users can pay from £61.11 per week for the funky compact crossover. Using Citroen’s Advanced Comfort technology, the C4 Cactus is one of the most cossetted vehicles currently available.
Vauxhall Astra
The popular hatchback is offered from £61.11 for those on the WPMS allowance, while those on DLA and PIP/AFIP will need to use their full weekly payment on each Astra option. With it, customers will get a practical model that is comfortable to drive and comes with plenty of kit.
Peugeot 3008
For Peugeot’s stylish mid-range SUV, DLA and PIP/AFIP customers will need to pay their full allowance plus a £799 advanced payment to get their hands on a 3008 – while those eligible through WPMS can get the model from £66.41.

Volkswagen’s mid-level SUV is both practical and advanced in equal measures – making it a great option in the Motability stakes. Hyundai IONIQ
