Dacia is well regarded as providing some of the cheapest cars on the market – including its only estate model, the Logan MCV.
With similar styling cues to the Sandero hatchback but with an extended rear to provide lots of interior room, the Logan MCV is incredibly practical for its price point.
Here we take a brief look at the model to see what it has to offer…
What engines are available?
The Romanian brand offers the Logan MCV with two petrol engines – the naturally-aspirated SCe 75 and the TCe 90 turbocharged unit – and the Blue dCi 95 diesel engine, all of which are developed by parent brand Renault and paired to a manual transmission. The entry-level SCe 75 develops 74bhp and comes with a claimed fuel economy of 45.6mpg with emissions of 124g/km CO2.
For the turbo TCe 90 petrol, fuel economy and emissions are identical to the naturally-aspirated unit – but the dCi 95 diesel is the most efficient engine of the range. The dCi returns a claimed 62.7mpg and emits just 103g/km CO2, making it the smart option for the estate if you undertake long journeys on a regular basis.
What trim options are there?
Dacia offers the Logan MCV in three different guises – Access, Essential and Comfort – and all offer the budget motoring that the brand is famous for. The entry-level Access option provides air conditioning, manual windows, hill start assist, LED daytime running lights and cloth upholstery to complement the 573-litre load space in the rear.
As you climb up the trim levels, the Logan is available with features such as USB connection, Bluetooth, fog lights, 16-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, split rear seats and even a seven-inch infotainment touchscreen that comes with satellite navigation and smartphone connectivity.
There isn’t much in the way of customisation though, as Dacia only offers six body colours to provide differentiation.
