2018 Ford Focus to be revealed April 10

Ford confirms unveiling of fourth-generation hatchback will take place on April 10, following the release of a new teaser.

April 10 will see the reveal of the 2018 Ford Focus, the American manufacturer has confirmed in a new teaser.

A video released by the firm gives us the first official, uncovered glimpse of the upcoming hatchback — suggesting it’ll take on similar looks to the recently-introduced Mk8 Ford Fiesta.

No further information has been revealed about the 2018 Focus as of yet, but it’s expected to be available in both hatchback and estate form like the outgoing model. ST-Line and Vignale trims are thought to top the range at launch.

A more focused ST version could come down the line, with an extreme-performance RS model likely to arrive later in the model cycle — as has been the case with previous generations of the Focus.

Although electrification is no new thing for the Focus, with the outgoing version having a battery-powered variant, it’s thought that hybrid and all-electric drivetrains will feature more prominently across the range — potentially even in the RS.

The Ford Focus was first introduced to the UK in 1998 and has since gone on to become a national favourite thanks to its family-friendly nature combined with good looks and great driving dynamics.
