Lexus has introduced a more aggressive-looking version of its flagship LC Coupe, offering a unique look and enhanced standard equipment.
The LC Black Inspiration is based on the LC Sport Plus Pack version and is fully dechromed to give it a stealthier appearance. Offering an ‘all-black look’, the version gets a black grille and front and rear light surrounds in a darkened finish. Lexus says it helps to ‘create an extra dimension of visual drama in the car’s powerful styling’.
New exterior features include a fixed rear spoiler and 21-inch five-spoke forged alloy wheels painted black, while there’s also a carbon fibre roof and carbon fibre scuff plates.
Featuring the same level of specification as the LC Sport Plus Black, it means standard equipment includes electric semi-aniline leather seats, a 13-speaker Mark Levinson sound system and a head-up display to name just a few features. Performance tech also includes dynamic rear steering and a Torsen limited-slip differential that helps to improve grip and traction.
The Black Inspiration will be offered with two powertrains – the LC 500h and the LC500. The former is a 3.5-litre V6 petrol-electric hybrid producing 354bhp, while the latter uses a more conventional 5.0-litre V8 producing 457bhp, and offering a 0-60mph time of 4.5 seconds.
Lexus will reveal prices on November 1 when the model goes on sale. Expect an increase on the £92,600 price of the Sport Plus Pack, though, with the hybrid and V8 models being priced identically.
