As has been the trend for a considerable amount of time, the Fiesta continues to lead the way in sales with 19,272 – taking its 2018 sales total up to 32,808. That’s 11,605 units ahead of its nearest rival, the Volkswagen Golf, which holds second place in the UK sales charts.

Despite an overall downturn in the market, Ford has continued to perform well with the Focus and Kuga also holding places inside the top ten and the firm selling 81,957 cars this year – 24,499 sales ahead of its closest rival.

Ford’s Commercial Vehicle segment is also leading the UK market, recording its highest monthly sales yet – with 21,870 in March, which is three times the amount sold by its closest rival.
