New limited-edition BMW M4 Heritage Edition revealed

The new models are limited to just 75 units in the UK.

BMW has announced a new limited-edition of its M4, which celebrates the German manufacturer’s motorsport heritage.

Officially known as the M4 ///M Heritage Edition (that’s no typo – the ‘///’ is how BMW writes down its logo), the UK will get just of these new models – making it one of the rarest M4 special editions to date.

On sale from today, the Heritage Edition is based on the M4 DTM touring car, and is available in three ‘Individual’ BMW colours – Laguna Seca Blue, Velvet Blue metallic and Imola Red. These replicate the colours in BMW’s ‘M’ logo – a trend seen throughout this special version.

The M4’s carbon-fibre reinforced plastic roof also features the BMW M stripes, while the Heritage Edition also comes with lightweight 20-inch alloy wheels.

Stylish bicolour leather bucket seats appear on the cabin, with each seat colour being oriented to the paint of the car and coming with contrasting stitching. Carbon fibre cabin trim is also exclusive to these Heritage Edition versions, while a host of plaques, numbering and embossed seats helps to denote the fact this isn’t a standard M4.

Under the bonnet it uses the same 444bhp 3.0-litre straight-six petrol engine as the M4 Competition – allowing for a sprint to 60mph of 4.1 seconds and a top speed limited to 155mph.

BMW hasn’t confirmed prices for the M4 Heritage Edition yet, though it’s likely to be quite a lot more expensive than the normal M4 Competition, which costs from £65,300. First deliveries are expected from November, with the model’s production run lasting until April 2020.
