Order books now open for new Skoda Scala

The Czech manufacturer’s new hatchback starts from £16,595

Skoda has announced that its new Scala is now available to order, with first deliveries expected from July.

The new hatchback replaces the Rapid Spaceback and offers class-leading practicality – particularly with its 467-litre boot – and is also one of the first cars across the Volkswagen Group to feature a new infotainment system that comes with improved connectivity features.

Prices start from £16,595 and rise to a fraction over £20,000 for the range-topping SEL version.

Standard equipment on the S model includes LED headlights, 16-inch alloy wheels, air-conditioning and a 6.5-inch touchscreen, with SE versions adding cruise control, rear parking sensors and a larger eight-inch touchscreen.  Range-topping SEL cars benefit from an even larger 9.2-inch touchscreen, a digital Virtual Cockpit,  keyless entry and climate control.

All trims also boast safety tech such as autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist and a speed limiter.

A lengthy list of optional extras is also available – including a panoramic roof (£925), an electric boot (£400) and a sports chassis (£495).
