We say A stylish, reliable hatch on a budget, the Pro-Cee'd is different but feels a little under par.Performance 124bhp 1.6 petrol and 124bhp 1.6 diesel units are the two best engines on the Pro-cee’d. Both are equally as punchy and nimble.Emissions Emissions of 110g/km are good at the bottom of the Pro-cee’d range. 58.9mpg combined on EcoDynamics model is very good though.Driving The Pro-cee’d offers lots of grip and light steering, but it gives a harsh ride at low speeds.Feel While the petrol Pro-cee’d can be loud, the diesel remains quiet even at high speed. No real issues with road or wind noise, but there are quieter cars around. Nevertheless the three-door Kia will make a decent motorway machine.Space The Pro-cee’d boot is relatively small as it’s only a three-door, but leg and head room is reasonable for all passengers.Equipment Base Pro-cee’d models get air conditioning and metallic paint but alloys cost extra.Price The Pro-cee’d is reasonably to buy and run considering decent specifications, but residuals aren’t too good.Quality The Pro-cee’d should be reliable, but interior materials are lacking somewhat compared to sector leaders. Seven-year warranty is a big bonus though.Safety Front, side and curtain airbags, EBD and ISOFIX child seat fittings come on all models. Five stars for crash testing from Euro NCAP.Pros Good engines, high MPG from diesels, smart, reliable, generous warranty.Cons Poor residuals, small bootAlternatives Volkswagen Golf, Ford Focus, Vauxhall Astra, Citroen C4
