We say The Arnage is a high-spec limo with olde-worlde styling for the mega-loaded.Performance Huge acceleration from turbo V8 engines, with huge torque delivered through auto 'box. A 350bhp 4.4-litre petrol can’t quite pull the Arnage’s bulk along briskly, something the turbo 400-500bhp 6.75-litre V8 has no trouble doing. That means 62mph in a frankly ludicrous sub-six second time.Emissions The 6.75-litre is also a quieter engine as it needs fewer revs to deliver its considerable power.Driving The Arnage handles the bends well and keeps body roll down to a minimum. There’s adjustable sports suspension available but the Arnage’s sheer size mitigates against anything too drastic.Feel Calm, smooth and fairly quiet ride inside the Arnage – especially with the larger engine that doesn’t need to work as hard.Space The Arnage’s front seats aren't adjustable so not so good for the portly gentleman or lady, though four should be seatable in comfort. Space overall is a tad under what might be expected though boot space is hardly cramped, though nowhere near the best in class.Equipment All the standards will come on entry-level models, but there’s a range of spurious and costly extras.Price You could pay £180,000 for this car and lose half the value in three years. Fuel economy? What fuel economy?Quality Bentley offers classy, hand-made bespoke interiors. The Arnage’s build quality and its engines are tried and tested.Safety High spec security kit and loads of passive and active safety features on later models.Pros The badge, power and luxury.Cons Cost is ludicrous, depreciation significant.Alternatives Rolls-Royce Phantom
