We say The Continental GTC drives as well as the GT coupe and, with the added bonus of drop-top driving, it is a superb car.Performance The roof adds a bit of weight to the GTC, but the 552bhp W12 6.0-litre engine still manages to eke out a top speed of 190mph with the roof folded. The Supersports is even faster.Emissions Skip on to the next bit – it’s better that way.Driving The Continental GTC’s focus is on being composed and refined as a cruiser, just like the coupe, though it can handle some hard driving and is not compromised by the lack of a fixed roof.Feel The GTC offers a smooth ride and little wind noise even with the roof down – engine noise is well insulated.Space The roof takes up more room in the cabin, making the Conti GTC essentially a two-seater. Not the best in its class for cabin room or for load space.Equipment Like the coupe, the Bentley drop-top comes fully equipped with everything you could wish for.Price £150,000 is relatively cheap compared to the Mulsanne, but resale values on the convertible are a big worry. Forget about running costs; if you need to ask it’s out of your league.Quality The GTC offers classy, bespoke interiors, as is to be expected from Bentley. Reliable engines and superb build quality throughout.Safety Later versions of the GTC offer high-spec security kit and enough safety equipment.Pros Looks great, performance is unaffected by the roof and drives well.Cons Expensive to buy, run, sell. Some will question styling and place on the market.Alternatives Aston Martin DB9
