We say The Murcielago Roadster good, if not better, than the Coupe. The roof is a real nuisance – but do you care in a mental supercar?Performance The Murcielago Roadster’s 6.2-litre V12 gives predictably insane performance – not too dissimilar to the coupe, despite the lack of roof. 62mph takes 3.8 seconds; maximum speed 199mph.Emissions 539g/km is shocking, even for a supercar like the Murcielago Roadster. 14mpg combined shouldn’t be a problem for Lambo owners, though, you don’t buy this car to save the planet.Driving Despite its size, the Murcielago Roadster is extremely agile and it handles corners like nothing else. It remains comfortable at high speeds too.Feel Engine is noisy – good noisy – especially when topless. This overpowers the wind and road noise that would otherwise be a real pain.Space There’s not much headroom and it isn’t the most practical supercar on the road – but it doesn’t try to be.Equipment Climate control, Bluetooth, heated mirrors, USB connection, alloy wheels and leather upholstery come as standard. It’s not as sumptuous as a DB9 or Ferrari however.Price It’s expensive to buy and run. Obviously.Quality It feels solid enough and some good quality materials have been used.Safety Traction control, carbon ceramic brakes and driver/front passenger airbags are on all models.Pros Amazing engine, great driving experience.Cons Awful emission levels and you don’t get an awful lot for your money. Roof is a pain to take off/put on also.Alternatives Aston Martin DBS Volante
