Bentley Flying Spur First Edition revealed

The limited-run model is set to be a collector’s edition to Bentley owners.

Bentley has announced a First Edition of its Flying Spur saloon to kickstart the luxury saloon’s production run.

First Editions will be manufactured for a fixed 12-month period and will come with a series of enhancements as part of their special edition status.

On top of the already high spec, First Edition variant come with the Mulliner Driving Specification, which brings 22-inch alloy wheels. Other visual changes include First Edition badging along with a number of Union Jack emblems throughout — just in case you forgot that the Flying Spur was UK built.

The ‘Flying B’ logo that pops out of the front of the car is also fitted as standard and it’s the first time a Bentley has featured this since 1959.

Another highlight is the Touring Specification, which is essentially a safety pack. This includes lane-keep assist, night vision tech, a head-up display and adaptive cruise control.

But given that Bentley customers often personalise their car with tens of thousands of pounds of options, few First Edition models are likely to be the same.

This new special edition has been unveiled with the Elton John AIDS Foundation, with Bentley auctioning off a built slot at the charity’s annual gala on July 24. The winning bidder will also be able to take advantage of Bentley’s ‘Co-Creation’ service, which lets owners specify their car alongside the brand’s design team.

The first examples will roll off the production line later in 2019, and perhaps unsurprisingly, there is no word on how much this luxury will cost.
