Prices announced for new Honda HR-V SUV

The new model switches to a hybrid-only powertrain

Honda has announced that prices for its new HR-V SUV will start from £26,960.

The brand’s latest generation of its smallest SUV will be sold purely with a hybrid powertrain, and brings sleeker styling, greater interior space and more technology than its predecessor, which was discontinued last year.

Utilising a 1.5-litre petrol engine combined with twin electric motors, it produces 129bhp and 263Nm of torque, though the main focus is on efficiency, with Honda claiming 52mpg and CO2 emissions of 122g/km.

The £26,960 starting price buys an Elegance version, which comes equipped with LED headlight, 18-inch alloy wheels and a nine-inch touchscreen with smartphone mirroring. The impressive ‘Honda Sensing’ safety package is also included, bringing features like adaptive cruise control and lane assist.

The Advance trim level is up next, and is available from £29,210. This features an electric boot, keyless entry and a heated steering wheel.

At the top of the range, the Advance Style model brings a premium sound system, a two-tone paint finish and orange interior detailing. This grade is available from £31,660.

Tom Gardner, senior vice president at Honda Motor Europe Ltd, said: “The launch of the all-new HR-V is a major milestone for Honda in Europe, setting new benchmarks for interior space, versatility and comfort in the compact SUV market.

“Available later this year, the next generation of hybrid-only HR-V will appeal to modern consumers, reflecting their active and connected lifestyles, with a desirable blend of efficiency and responsive performance."

Order books for the new Honda HR-V are now open, with first deliveries expected in December 2021.
