MG has announced prices for its facelifted ZS EV crossover, which gets a new larger battery and updated styling.
The ZS EV was MG’s first electric car, launching in 2019 as one of the most affordable new electric cars, yet still offering a practical interior and a decent electric range.
Now MG has revised the ZS EV, with the main change being the addition of a larger 72kWh battery offering a claimed electric range of 273 miles. It represents a significant step up over the 44.5kWh battery fitted to the outgoing car, which offered a 163-mile range. Its battery can also be rapid charged in 42 minutes, while a home charge with a 7kW wallbox will take around 10.5 hours.

As standard it also features ‘Vehicle-to-Load’ capability, which means you can use the car’s battery to power other electrical equipment – an e-bike, for example.
To separate it from the petrol ZS, MG has given it a bespoke front-end with a ‘stamped-effect’ grille and new LED headlights as standard, while a large 10.1-inch iSmart touchscreen is included as standard, which also enables over-the-air software updates for the first time.
Prices for the new ZS EV start from £28,495, after the plug-in car grant. This buys an SE version, which comes with automatic climate control, keyless entry and start, adaptive cruise control and the large touchscreen system as standard.

Jump up to Trophy, which is priced from £30,995, and it adds a panoramic sunroof, leather-style heated seats and a wireless phone charger. At the top of the range, the Trophy Connect adds additional connected services, including live weather and traffic updates and Amazon Prime for £31,495.
The updated MG ZS EV will arrive in the firm’s dealerships from next month.
