Mercedes-AMG has opened the order books for its A 35, with prices starting from £35,580.
The new hot hatchback model from the German brand is fitted with a turbocharged four-cylinder 2.0-litre engine developing 302bhp and 400Nm of torque.
Directing that power to the 4Matic all-wheel drive system is a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The A 35 is capable of 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds and can reach an electronically-limited top speed of 155mph.
Depending on the alloy wheels fitted, the A 35 can achieve up to 38.7mpg and 167g/km CO2.
Standard equipment includes 18-inch AMG alloy wheels, sports-tuned suspension, an AMG grille with twin-blade plate, performance braking system, a model-specific exhaust system and dynamic select driving mode system.
Inside, the A 35 is fitted with two seven-inch displays with the MBUX infotainment system, an AMG performance steering wheel in Nappa leather, automatic dual-zone climate control, a reversing camera and Keyless Go.
The A 35 also gets active lane keeping assist and speed limit assist as standard.
Customers can choose to add multiple equipment packs, including the £1,395 Executive pack that adds a 10.25-inch central display, heated front seats, active park assist, leather upholstery and electrically folding wing mirrors.
The Premium line builds on the Executive pack and adds a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, ambient lighting, keyless entry and a mid-range sound system. The pack is priced at £2,395.
Further packs are available, including the Premium Plus, Driving Assistance, Advanced Navigation and AMG Style options.
Deliveries will begin next spring.
